Before I kick off my latest topic, three things: 1) My articles are always based on a subject that I’m either passionate about, or curious about and simply want to learn more; 2) My intent is for you to gain at least one new insight; 3) Remember I’m not an expert, I’m just a curious parent who is passionate about making informed healthier choices especially for the next generation.
As people become more conscious of their health, changes in dietary habits are becoming more and more common. One of the most obvious trends is a global reduction in sugar intake. People around the world are opting for healthier options and reducing their sugar consumption, but why? And how can we do the same? Let’s take a look.
The Rise in Sugar Awareness
The awareness of the effects that sugar has on our bodies and minds has increased significantly over the past few years. We now know that excessive amounts of sugar can lead to a range of health issues such as weight gain, heart disease, diabetes, and even depression. This knowledge has led to an increase in people actively avoiding sugary food and beverages or limiting their intake when possible.
Healthy Alternatives
Fortunately, there are healthy alternatives for those looking to reduce their sugar intake without sacrificing flavor or satisfaction. Our range of healthy lollies provide a range of lollies, toffees and lollipops, all naturally sweetened so you can avoid all the sugar. Moderation is Key
While reducing your sugar intake is important for overall health and wellbeing, it's also important to remember that moderation is key. There is no need to completely eliminate all forms of sugar from your diet; instead focus on incorporating healthier alternatives where possible while still enjoying your favourite treats in moderation. Simply swap it out for a healthier alternative - that’s what we’re all about at Daz & Andy’s Healthy Lollies.
Access to An Abundance of Healthy Meal Recipes
There are plenty of recipes online that offer healthy alternatives to your favorite sugary snacks and desserts! Have you looked on Instagram lately?! - it has an abundance of healthy recipes and experts providing guidance and suggestions on what to eat and thankfully what not to eat. Take A Closer Look At Food Labels
Before you purchase that box of cereal which looks healthy (clever packaging) take a closer look at the ingredients and the Nutritional Information Panel. Brace yourself - you’ll uncover just how much sugar is in that so-called healthy pack of cereal. However it can be overwhelming, so the other helpful guide is the Health Star Rating. It’s optional for food manufacturer’s to put it on the product, but plenty do. The higher the star, the better.
